Wellness and Sustainability Tips are selected from the UMD “FYI” Listserv system. The “FYI” Listserv provides general announcements and information on programs of particular interest to the faculty and staff of the University of Maryland.

I. Wellness

  • Shop at a farmers’ market

“September is SOCIAL wellness month at the University of Maryland! Farmers’ markets are a great place to choose to be socially well; not only are you shopping sustainably and supporting local growers, but you also get to enjoy a community-oriented shopping experience. Come meet your campus neighbors TODAY at the Farmers’ Market at Maryland’s Fall Kick-Off and ring in the new semester with good company, fresh produce, live music, and more! The market will run 11AM-3PM in front of Cole Field House, every Wednesday through November 14th.”

II. Sustainability

  • Start the school year green

“Become part of the Green Office Program! This FREE program promotes green practices in an office environment. Join your colleagues and work your way through Bronze, Silver and Gold levels. We provide everything you need including posters, stickers, incentives and more! Space is still available for our next training session on Tuesday, September 25th.”
