ESSIC post-doctoral associate Xiaoxu Tian and research professor Xiaolei Zou published an article with the American Meteorological Society about recent hurricanes. Their research used data from the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS) and the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit-A (AMSU-A) to look at the warm cores of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
