A UMD alum and professor co-authored a paper about the reduction in the thickness of Earth’s protective ozone layer that followed the Australian wildfires.
May 6, 2022 – The Mekong Delta in Viet Nam could be nearly fully submerged by the end of the century if urgent actions are not taken across the river basin. Continuing with business as usual could drown 90% of this agro-economic powerhouse that’s home to nearly 20 million people – with immense local and global impacts.
ESSIC/CISESS Assistant Research Scientist Zhuosen Wang is a co-author on a letter in Science titled “Retired Satellites: A Chance to Shed Light” alongside researchers from the Universities Space Research Association, German Research Centre for Geosciences, Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere, Earth Observation Center, and Northern Arizona University.
