Shen featured in NASA News for study with colleagues on tropical cyclones

Bo-Wen Shen was featured in NASA News reporting on the study by Shen, with NASA and NOAA colleagues W.-K. Tao, W. K. Lau and R. Atlas, published recently online in the Journal of Geophysical Research-Atmospheres,1524415244 on employing NASA’s Pleiades supercomputer and atmospheric data to simulate tropical cyclone Nargis, which devastated Myanmar in 2008. The result is the first model to replicate the formation of the tropical cyclone five days in advance.
