Ross Salawitch, with Simone Tilmes (National Center for Atmospheric Research) and Rolf Muller (Research Center Jülich), published an article in Science, April 24, responding to the suggestion that a continuous injection of sulphur into the stratosphere would counteract global warming. Salawitch, et al., concluded that this approach would have a drastic impact on Earth’s protective ozone layer. Subsequent articles appeared in The Telegraph, Agence France Press, Physorg.com, Chemical and Engineering News, Science News Magazine and MSNBC.
