ESSIC's Melissa Kenney was a keynote speaker at the Sigma Xi Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference held this year in Kansas City, Mo. Kenney was also formally presented with the Sigma Xi 2015 Young Investigator Award (YIA) at the event. The award is presented annually to recognize an excellent active Sigma Xi member within 10 years of his or her highest earned degree. (The annual meeting was held from October 22 – 25, 2015.) Kenney particapated in a Sigma Xi "Google Hangout" event (below) earlier this year, shortly after her selection as the organization's 2015 YIA was announced.
