Kenney And Gerst To Attend INFORMS Annual Meeting

Dr. Kenney and Dr. Gerst will travel to Nashville for the INFORMS Annual Meeting, held from November 13-16. Dr. Kenney co-chairs the Decision Analysis Cluster, and she is also on the Decision Analysis Society Council.
 
Dr. Kenney will be chairing the session titled, “Environmental Decision Analysis” and co-chairing the “New Frontiers in Decision Analysis Practice and Theory” session. She will also present her talk titled, “The Process of Co-producing a Climate Indicators System.” In this talk, Dr. Kenney will discuss the development and implementation of an inter-agency climate indicators system that was designed to provide support for undefined climate adaptation and mitigation decisions. She will also discuss implications of the work, lessons learned, and best practices for similar efforts.
 
Dr. Gerst will present his talk titled, “Using Visualization Science To Diagnose And Improve Global Change Indicator Understandability.” His talk will focus on how visualization science was used to diagnose and redesign global change indicators. Dr. Gerst will discuss how even simple changes in visualization improved understandability.
