Victor R. Peguero, ESSIC’s former Director of Administration and Finance, passed away on May, 30, 2019 at his home in Bel Air, Maryland following a long illness.
Peguero was appointed Director of Business and Finance for ESSIC in May 2017. He immediately struck everyone with his wit, thoughtfulness and calm demeanor. At meetings and social events alike, Pegero lit up the room with his large smile, lively sense of humor and gregarious nature.
Prior to joining ESSIC, Peguero was Assistant Administrator at John Hopkins School of Medicine as well as the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He held two Masters degrees from New School University in New York City.
In his free time, he enjoyed cruises and vacations with his family and working on his home and surrounding landscaping.
In Peguero’s memory, donations can be made in support of the research of Dr. Satish Shanbhag at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
